Backend Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Backend Tech Lead to join our fintech payments startup. The ideal candidate should have seven or more years of experience in backend development and possess strong skills in Python, Django, AWS, and Terraform. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of developers to design, develop, and maintain our payments platform. This role requires strong technical leadership skills, as well as experience in managing and mentoring a team.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our payments platform, ensuring its scalability, security, and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices, coding standards, and development processes
• Mentor and manage a team of developers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their growth and success
• Participate in the hiring process by conducting technical interviews and evaluating candidates for backend development roles
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in backend development and fintech, and incorporate them into our platform as appropriate

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of designing and developing scalable, reliable, and secure applications
• Strong proficiency in Python, Django, AWS, and Terraform
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and development tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and mentoring a team of developers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
