Description

As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of our products. You will work closely with our development team to identify, document, and resolve defects, ensuring our products meet the highest standards. Your work will involve testing web applications, APIs, and user interfaces, and you will be an advocate for best practices in quality assurance at Baya.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Execution: Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test scripts for manual testing.
API Testing: Utilize Postman to perform API testing, including validating request/response payloads, status codes, and error handling.
UI/UX Testing: Ensure the user interface and user experience meet design specifications and are intuitive and user-friendly across various devices and browsers. Use browser developer tools to debug issues, check for errors, and validate application behavior.
Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to understand requirements and provide feedback throughout the development process.
Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that recent changes have not adversely affected existing functionality.
Quality Advocacy: Promote and enforce best practices in testing and quality assurance methodologies within the team.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in manual testing, preferably in a fintech or startup environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Postman for API testing.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools for debugging.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Experience with testing methodologies and defect tracking tools like JIRA.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and web application architecture.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to identifying issues.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
